The first impression of this release is its physical manifestation; somber, sober, ascetic, downscaled, withheld: the cover almost invisible, the text on the white paper not black, but gray. There is an airy, spiritual, transparent feeling of a thin fall afternoon in an open landscape in the presentation of the CD. It is as if the producers achieved this issue by cautiously breathing on a magic mirror in an enchanted garden, not even touching, not at all disturbing, but simply letting thought and dream condense on the glass of time

As you start listening track 1A - a more brute but still gray, misty feeling grabs you by the neck, when a cut-up, vibrating fluttering inferno extends, repetitiously; a variation on a devilish theme, catching on, massaging your whole physiognomy down to the last organic piece of matter
Soon in track 1B a Stockhausenesque MIXTUR audio cleans out your auditory meatuses from all excess fat, really stirring your feelings and thoughts, as you brace yourself and duck for cover. Wow, Luigi di Giampietro has learned a few tricks from Stockhausen (MIXTUR & KURZWELLEN), Gottfried Michael Koenig (FUNKTION ROT GRAU VIOLETT BLAU INDIGO) and Henri Pousseur (ÉTUDES PARABOLIQUES)! Yeah man! This rocks and rolls through the ear-wrenching outposts of contemporeana! You name it, we like it! This is audio bent out of shape, out of whack into your living room with fire and sulphuric acid! Enjoy, enjoy!
This radio static sonatino eventually turns more modal and melodic, believe it or not. Through the cracks in this tough luck output a shadow of a melody of sorts seems to fight its way on out. Its shiny, curving; even brittle towards the end full of metallic beauty!

The same idiomatic idiom is apparent in track 1C, though speedier and somehow
backwards! Thats ridiculous to state in this kind of ear-wrangling ghost audio, but its nonetheless my perception of it; bouncing off of your tympanic membranes in holy glory, backwards! This is really very artistically achieved, because the result is so
enjoyable, so sweet to a connoisseur of electronic music! This is high-class torment, and we grasp for more, as we listen deeper into the glorious happy-go-luckiness of this release!
In track 1D di Giampietro reaches down into rock bottom planetary matter, moving with force and utter ruthlessness right through the mineral worlds of granite and gneiss, navigating the atomic jitter with a Geiger counter. This Italian composer and definitely - philosopher (a Nietzsche of electroacoustics: In the rock a sound does dwell, the sound of sounds!) finds a way to convey the innermost state of rock, of solid rock bottom, into the audible! This is worth a prize of some kind! This sound painter paints with rock on rock, in rough figures that smell of fire!
A gurgling hell of a liquid upsurge opens track 2, but here an instrument and voices are let into the world of rock and fire and dark winter skies, and the effect is that of discovery, as the Universe finds it in its liking to discover Man, and Man plays God on the surface of the planet, and the right side of the brains of men talk to the left side, and this is how that sounds! This is the sonic illustration that was missing in Julian Jaynes book THE ORIGIN OF CONSCIOUSNESS IN THE BREAKDOWN OF BICAMERAL MIND!

An ode to industry and mile-high smokestacks is served in track 3, much to the joy of all us sound lickers round the world, whod much prefer the taste of sheet steal to the salt of sea water, and the sun shines in to the factory through windows high up, in visible rays diagonally through the shimmering iron dust and this music projects minute metallic incidents onto the backdrop of soaring dust particles. You take a deep breath of pulmonary emphysema, and retreat into the deeper meaning of tempered steel.
Track 4 opens another factory scenery, where erratic human exclamations are just ingredients in the greater web of dust, steel and flesh, into which the dreams and memories of the workers are projected like ghastly puppet theatres, mangled between the rolls of a rolling-mill.
A sudden silence allows for voices and a trombone to clamber up the dirty brick walls, but the overhead cranes can easily track them down, and this machinery lacks all remorse. Its a tough world in the steel business! This is like a latter day chamber piece, protruding in a guise of strings and heavy steel slabs!
The last track is a shadow of an echo of long gone cicadas and grasshoppers in someones biblical dream. Moses rests on his staff, while the Children of Israel move through the barren lands. Little bells of dew ring out a longing for a passage into bliss, and the solid force of prophecy opens the rocks, which start to flow with refreshing liquids
and there is a time for every season under heaven
