Caprice Records is probably the most important Swedish label and record company to date, with a vast array of recordings to it's credit. Most of their titles are recordings of Swedish artists performing Swedish art music, but they also publish works from abroad (not Swedish), as well as jazz, children's music and also a whole line of Swedish folk music records. In addition to all this they are issuing one of the finest lines of historical recordings ever released; Collector's Classics. One of the important advantages of the Caprice output is the deep knowledge of some of it's employees, which is especially remarkable in their historical output, where the incredibly initiated Carl-Gunnar Åhlén is the author of the booklets that accompany the sets, and these booklets are actually books, full of details about the works, the interpreters and the composers.
