Ingvar Loco Nordin
Korean Glass

SONOLOCO RECORDS
Korean Glass? Well, this composition is the result of a combination of pre-studies for another composition of mine, called Winter Glass, and a recording off of a Korean radio talk show (one of those programs you call in to, to talk to the program host), broadcast on the Internet.

This was in the early days of Internet radio, and I was quite fascinated by it, and recorded some of the broadcasts. This particular program sounded very funny, especially for Swedish-speaking folks, because the word Nae (with a certain pronounciation) is inserted ever so often. I have no idea what it means in Korean, but probably the opposite of the Swedish meaning. This word in Swedish means NO, with the added meaning, YOU DONT SAY! or OH NO! or REALLY?!

After many dormant years on a dat tape, I decided to use this Korean conversation for a composition, and it felt natural to begin the work with one of the Winter Glass pre-studies, called Glass Densifier. At the end an opposite glass study concludes Korean Glass: Glass Thinner. In the conversation an insertion from the glass music appears, and in the finishing Glass Thinner the conversation appears in different ways three times.
Its quite a simple composition, but, in my ears and mind! enjoyable and FUN!
