:dacapo: went through a process of reorganisation . :dacapo: now has got three departments, a professional music theatre ensemble touring with several programmes, a currently inactive festival promotion section, and the sound & videoarchive section including the compact disc label d'c.
In 2002 it had become impossible to continue promoting the usual amount of monthly concert recitals in Bremen. After 18 years and more than 500 fine concerts with musicians from all over the world, the situation was mainly caused by stupid political decision.
Nevertheless, :dacapo: activities didn't stop. The :ensemble dacapo: continues to present own cross media music theatre productions mostly outside Bremen.
The ensemble's latest piece GONE WEST with the Canadian singer and actress Lou Simard could meanwhile be performed more than 35 times. It had even been selected by the Goethe Institute to internationally represent Germany.
For 2006 dacapo is preparing a new festival :dacapo & friends: celebrating the organisation's 20th birthday in September 2005. We are looking forward to find support for the scientific DVD edition of more than 500 documents recorded live at dacapo between 1985-2002.
