G.M.V.L - Groupe de Musiques Vivantes de Lyon - is an organization that has been active in the recording and diffusion of electroacoustic music since the late 1970s. It has evolved into a center for the creation of electroacoustics and its application in other art forms, such as dance, theater and so forth.
It has been concentrating its efforts on the research into and realization of the art of acousmatique; a soundart characterized by the utilization of concrete and other sound sources which are treated with advanced and sophisticated equipment to achieve new experiences in a world of sound that opens inner expanses of musical and perhaps spiritual content in the mind of the listener.
G.M.V.L. also offers a series of acousmatic concerts, diffused through its grand acousmateque; an array of loudspeakers of different kinds, arranged according to the special demands of each work presented.
It also happens that G.M.V.L. goes on tour with its acousmateque!
