Dabringhaus & Grimm operates out of Detmold, Germany. The label is unusually concentrated on the quality and originality of the recording process, which is why recording spaces, microphones etcetera are selected with the utmost care. This – as some would put it – “purist” view of sound runs through the whole process of making the records, which is why the final product always is a high class, naturally sounding event of great artistic significance.
Dabringhaus & Grimm produces series with the music of composers like J. S. Bach, W. A. Mozart, Franz Schubert, Josef Rheinberger, Anton Reicha, Paul Hindemith, Olivier Messiaen, Max Reger, Charles Widor, Marcel Dupré and John Cage, and releases many other CDs with other composers.
